A coordinated sub-national polio vaccination campaign is currently underway in Bahria Town Rawalpindi, targeting children under the age of five years. The campaign is part of a broader immunization drive being conducted across Rawalpindi and the Islamabad Capital Territory to protect children from the crippling poliovirus.

Health authorities have launched comprehensive door-to-door vaccination activities along with fixed immunization centers to ensure maximum coverage and accessibility for families. Dedicated polio teams are visiting residential areas to administer oral polio drops to children and raise awareness among parents about the importance of routine immunization.

Speaking to our correspondent, Polio Team Incharge Muhammad Arslan sani stated that a four-day door-to-door vaccination campaign has been launched in Bahria Town Rawalpindi and will continue until May 22, 2026. He emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure that every child under five receives polio drops to help eliminate the disease from the country.

Parents and guardians have been urged to fully cooperate with vaccination teams and make sure their children are vaccinated during the campaign. Citizens can also report missed areas or seek further information through the government-approved Sehat Tahaffuz Helpline by dialing 1166.

Health officials reiterated that repeated polio vaccination is essential to strengthen children’s immunity and safeguard communities against the spread of the virus.
