Bahria Town Rawalpindi: Bahria Town Head Office has issued an important notice to all stamp vendors regarding an update to the Government of Punjab’s E-Stamping Web Portal. According to the notice, the provincial government has updated the E-Stamping system, and stamp vendors have been advised to temporarily stop generating or printing E-Stamp Challans for Stamp Duty until further instructions.
The notice states that the E-Stamping Web Portal was updated with effect from August 21, 2026. In view of the system update, all stamp vendors have been directed not to generate or print E-Stamp Challans for Stamp Duty.
Bahria Town Warns Customers About Incorrect Challans
Bahria Town has also issued a specific warning to customers regarding payments made against incorrectly generated challans.
According to the notice, Bahria Town will not be responsible for any financial loss in case a customer makes payment against a wrongly generated challan. Customers and stamp vendors are therefore advised to exercise caution and ensure that no E-Stamp Challan is generated or paid until the updated system and procedures are officially clarified.
The warning is particularly relevant to property-related transactions, where stamp duty and other government charges form an important part of the documentation and registration process.
New Guidelines to Be Issued After Portal Update
Bahria Town Head Office further stated that new guidelines will be shared with all stamp vendors after the E-Stamping Web Portal update has been completed.
Stamp vendors are expected to follow the revised instructions once they are formally communicated. Until then, vendors have been advised to avoid generating or printing E-Stamp Challans for Stamp Duty through the updated portal.
Notice Regarding Taxes and Property-Related Payments
A separate portion of the notice, issued in Urdu, also refers to payments and downloads related to 236C, 236K, Stamp Duty, PLRA, Local Government and Registry taxes.
The notice advises concerned parties regarding the downloading of tax-related documents from the Punjab government’s website. It further indicates that customers should ensure the relevant challan or document is properly generated before proceeding with payment.
The Urdu notice is dated August 22, 2026, and appears to reinforce the instructions issued following the E-Stamping Web Portal update.
What Stamp Vendors and Customers Should Do
In light of the notice, stamp vendors and customers involved in property transactions are advised to:
-
Avoid generating or printing E-Stamp Challans for Stamp Duty until further instructions.
-
Do not make payments against incorrectly generated challans.
-
Verify all challan details carefully before making any payment.

Wait for the revised guidelines from Bahria Town and the relevant authorities.

Impact on Property Transactions
The E-Stamping system plays an important role in property documentation and transactions, including the payment of applicable stamp duty and other government-related charges. Any temporary interruption or change in the E-Stamping procedure may affect the processing of property-related documentation.
Customers planning property transfers, registrations or other transactions involving stamp duty are therefore encouraged to coordinate with their authorized stamp vendors and wait for official instructions before proceeding with E-Stamp Challan generation or payment.
Bahria Town’s notice is intended to prevent customers from suffering financial losses due to incorrect challans during the transition to the updated E-Stamping system.
The latest instructions will remain subject to further guidelines issued by the concerned authorities and Bahria Town management.
